We’re so excited to see you in Utah!
At WITS Utah, we’re bringing hundreds of travel content creators together to collectively discover our host destination, share its stories, and build our creative skills through meaningful sessions and exciting excursions, all while expanding our global network.
BIG NEWS: This year’s WITS will be a little different!
If you’ve been to WITS before, you know that traditionally we spend Friday through Sunday in a mixture of sessions, workshops, and large group gatherings like our opening party and the Bessie Awards, which usually happens on Saturday evening. This year, while we’ll still be at the hotel as usual on Friday and Sunday, we’ve moved the Bessie Awards to Thursday instead. Why is that? Because…
…we’ll be spending all of Saturday in and around the renowned and charming town of Park City!
Park City is known for its mountain views, outdoor excursions, and quirky main street filled with world-class restaurants, art, museums, small businesses, and so much more. Free transportation for WITS attendees will be provided there and back for the day!
Whether you’ve been to WITS before or are coming in new, use this guide to figure out ahead of time how to take full advantage of your experience. There’s a lot happening during WITS week, and we’re here to help you sort through it all. Let’s begin!

2. WHAT MAKES WITS DIFFERENT
WITS is not like other creator conferences.
Developed by international women’s travel collective Wanderful, WITS is designed to foster community over competition. That intention is foundational to who we are and at the core of everything we do.
At WITS, hundreds of travel-loving creators and industry members descend on a new city each year to learn about the latest trends in the industry from an ever-changing team of experts; make groundbreaking partnerships to skyrocket their careers; gather incredible content for their platforms; and join a network of others who are insightful, thoughtful, and supportive.
Some of the things that really set WITS apart:

3. WHAT YOU GET WITH YOUR TICKET
Your general admission WITS ticket includes…

→ Our famous Sunday Brunch, where we’ll reveal our next WITS destination.

→ Access to our offsite day in Park City, full of engaging excursions, a scavenger hunt up Main Street, and dinner at a mountain lodge.

4. FIRST TIMER’S GUIDE
If this is your first time attending WITS, welcome!
You’re going to love the thriving community, the amazing connections, and ALL of the lessons that you’re going to take away from WITS week.
Before you get into planning mode, it’s important to take a moment to decide what you want to get out of WITS. There is always a ton happening at WITS, so taking a moment (or maybe a few moments) to identify your goals will help you enormously in the long-run.

Deciding on these things will help you find the most success for yourself in the long run.

WITS is committed to creating inclusive and accessible events. If you have an accessibility or dietary accommodation request, you should hopefully have let us know when registering for your ticket.
All full group conference programming – like our general sessions, breakout sessions, opening party, and the Bessie Awards – is wheelchair accessible. We also offer open wheelchair space as well as separate labeled reserved accessible seating at the front of each session room, and our in-room volunteers are available if you require assistance sitting somewhere else. Tours and excursions that are wheelchair accessible are clearly labeled in our schedule.
If you indicated on your ticket that you require additional audiovisual accommodations, we will reach out to you personally to find a solution that works for you. This can include arranging an assisted hearing device, reimbursing you for the cost of real-time AI transcription software, and/or distributing session presentations prior to the conference.
At WITS-organized events where food is served, we offer options that accommodate all indicated dietary needs and ensure that food is clearly labeled. If you are attending a non-WITS-organized offsite event hosted by a partner or sponsor (including tours, FAM trips, meetups, and happy hours), please check directly with the host about what options will be available.

6. THE SCHEDULE
YouLi is the platform we use to host our full schedule and offer signups for the Media Marketplace. Use this section to learn more about how YouLi works in addition to all the different options and events you’ll find in our schedule.

At WITS, you make your own schedule.
YouLi is the platform we host our digital schedule on. When you register for WITS, you’ll receive an invitation to YouLi to create your free account. There’s no download necessary and you can access it from any device as long as it has a web browser and is connected to a network.
Some things we offer at WITS, like our sessions and parties, can be attended at your leisure (as long as you have a WITS ticket, of course). Other offerings, like our Mentor Meetings and offsite tours and trips, require pre-registration if you’d like to participate. If something requires pre-registration, it will be noted in its description and will include more information about how to sign up.
YouLi is also where you’ll be able to pre-book meetings for the Media Marketplace. More on that below.

Our famous pre- and post-WITS tours and FAMs are free to all attendees. You must pre-register for any tour you wish to attend. You must apply for any FAM trip you wish to attend (applications do not guarantee a spot). Simply adding a tour or FAM trip to your personal schedule on YouLi does not guarantee you a spot. There are no waitlists for tours, but sometimes people drop out, so keep checking back to see if spaces open up.

The Bessie Awards, happening Thursday night, honor women and gender-diverse people of impact in travel, particularly influencers, creative entrepreneurs, marketers, and other representatives who have contributed unique voices and work to the travel industry. A ticket to WITS grants you free access to the Bessie Awards. Click here to learn more and see this year’s finalists.

The Media Marketplace takes place for half a day on Friday morning and is designed to maximize opportunities for brands and creators to build powerful relationships and discuss collaborations. You’ll be able to pre-book 10-minute blocks to meet one-on-one with sponsors and brand representatives. More on this below.

Mentor Meetings are personalized sessions offered by some of our presenters. For a small fee, you can meet with a mentor one-on-one at a time outside of programming hours. Our mentors are experts on everything from blog monetization to negotiation to business licensing and more. You must pre-register (and pay) for any mentor meeting you wish to attend.

Your ticket to WITS grants you entry to any of our general sessions and breakout sessions. The only exception here is Beginner Bootcamp sessions, which are available only to attendees who have purchased the Beginner Bootcamp ticket add-on.

Your ticket to WITS grants you access to all social events throughout the weekend, including our opening party on Friday night. You do not need to pre-register for any of our parties or socials unless specifically noted in their description on YouLi. While our opening party will have transportation provided, any other offsite happy hours will not.

This year, our partners at Visit Park City have planned an incredible day of excursions for us, which fall into three categories (Active, Education, and Spiritual) and offer a mixture of physical activities, educational experiences, and spiritual journeys. You can choose your own adventure! Transportation via group bus from Salt Lake City to excursions, excursions to Park City Main Street, Park City Main Street to Empire Canyon Lodge, and Empire Canyon Lodge back to Salt Lake City is included. You don’t want to miss our famous Sunday brunch at WITS!
In addition to sampling some delicious food and hearing some final inspiring talks to close out the weekend, this is when we announce our destination for next year’s WITS. We can’t wait to share it with you!

Unless otherwise stated, partners, spouses, children, parents, and anyone else is not permitted to join you at any WITS-related activities (even if they do not require pre-registration) unless they have a ticket in their name. The only exception is infants who can sit in a lap. This exception is only applicable to our general and breakout sessions—not tours, excursions, parties, happy hours, and other activities that happen outside our host hotel. 7. BEGINNER BOOTCAMP
Friday, 9am-1:15pm
Beginner Bootcamp is a special pre-conference block of programming tailored to new content creators who want to learn how to be the best, from the best. At Beginner Bootcamp, you’ll learn from experienced creators and entrepreneurs to set yourself up for success as you head down the path of becoming a travel creator, even if you haven't created your blog yet. Check out our schedule to see what sessions we’re offering at Beginner Bootcamp this year. And don’t forget: lunch is included with your Beginner Bootcamp ticket!
Preparing for Beginner Bootcamp:
Make sure you bring something to take notes with and/or a laptop. There is no dress code, but we suggest wearing something similar to your regular conference attire. Most attendees wear a mix of casual chic and business casual.

8. MEDIA MARKETPLACE
Friday, 9am-1pm
If you’re looking to meet brands or partners, you’re going to love our famous Media Marketplace on Friday morning!
We have an incredible lineup of people coming to WITS and they want to meet with you! Now you can get the wheels in motion. The Media Marketplace was created to facilitate networking meetings between non-sponsoring attendees (both creators and industry members) and sponsors (companies who have purchased a sponsorship that includes access to the Media Marketplace).
Meetings can be requested between non-sponsoring attendees and sponsors only. This is an opportunity for bloggers, influencers, content creators, and even non-sponsoring brand representatives to schedule personal meetings with sponsors who are looking to work with them. WITS uses YouLi to schedule these meetings, and only registered WITS attendees will receive invitations to join. All meetings are 10 minutes long, with 5 minutes in between to move to your next appointment. We will make announcements to keep you on schedule as you meet with all of your appointments. Attendees who registered for WITS Utah prior to March 6, 2024, received an email invitation from YouLi on that date to join and make an account. Attendees who registered on or after March 6 will receive an invitation within a few days of registration. If you have not received your invitation by the dates indicated above, please check your spam folder and make sure you’re checking the inbox for the email account you used to register for WITS. The email subject should include the words “create your profile and book meetings for WITS Utah.”
9. PARK CITY SATURDAY OFFSITE EXCURSIONS, SCAVENGER HUNT, & DINNER

On Saturday at WITS, we’re getting out of the hotel conference rooms and into Park City!
Our partners at Visit Park City have planned an incredible day of excursions for us, which fall into three categories (Active, Education, and Spiritual) and offer a mixture of physical activities, educational experiences, and spiritual journeys. You can choose your own adventure!
Transportation via group bus from Salt Lake City to excursions, excursions to Park City Main Street, Park City Main Street to Empire Canyon Lodge, and Empire Canyon Lodge back to Salt Lake City is fully included for all WITS attendees.
Space is limited and excursions will fill up. Register ASAP to secure your spot! Registrations close 30 March.

12. MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR WITS
Whether you’re a first-time attendee or an old pro, here are some pointers to help you maximize your WITS experience.

You’re going to meet so many interesting people at WITS. Make sure you network and connect with them!
The easiest way to stay connected is to exchange business cards. You don’t need anything fancy, just a simple card with your contact information. DIY printable business cards are a quick and easy way to create business cards if you don’t want to place an order for cards, but there are also plenty of websites where you can design (either yourself or through their design tool) and print a whole stack.
You may also want to consider bringing just one card with all your contact information on it and encouraging those you meet to save a photo of it on their phone. They’ll be less likely to lose it that way!
Pro Tip: On the back of each business card you receive, jot down a quick note about the person to jog your memory later when looking back and following up with your new connections.

There’s no official dress code for WITS, but most attendees wear a mix of casual chic and business casual.
Wear what you feel great in. You’ll be on the move throughout the weekend, and there’s nothing worse than being out and about for an extended period of time in an outfit you hate. Even if you’re staying at our host hotel, there will likely be occasions when you won’t have time to dash back to your room and change before the next event. Packing a mix of comfortable casual clothing along with a few dressy items should do the trick.
And don’t forget: Layers are your friend.

With so many fun and exciting things going on throughout the weekend, it’s easy to become a little overwhelmed.
Take a look at the schedule before arrival and make a list of all the activities, networking events, and sessions you’re interested in. You can also sign up for YouLi so that you can design your own personalized schedule and keep track of all the sessions you’re planning to attend. Remember that you can attend sessions in a variety of tracks to maximize your WITS experience and tailor your personal schedule to best suit your interests.
Try to take your time and enjoy it all. If you can’t make it to everything, don’t worry. And be sure to take breaks and get a good night’s rest so that you can do it all again the next day.

Pack a small bag that’s easy to carry around with you throughout the day with water, a snack, gum or mints, a note-taking instrument (whether that be a pad and pen, your laptop, or a smartphone), and any necessary chargers. Having a light sweater or scarf on hand is also a good idea in case the conference rooms are a bit chilly (like we said — layers!).
Most importantly, be yourself and enjoy the experience! WITS is an all-encompassing, encouraging, and welcoming conference. You’ll feel right at home with the rest of our crew.
