We’re thrilled to be heading to Portland, Maine from May 3-5 for our 2019 WITS North America.

WITS North America is our flagship event. We began in Chicago, Illinois in March of 2014 and have traveled across the United States and Canada each year thereafter. Will you join us?

What kinds of sessions does WITS offer? What are the tracks?

Sessions are offered at beginner and advanced levels and will be broken up into multiple tracks. Click here to view last year’s schedule and see the kinds of sessions we offer at WITS. Your ticket entitles you to attend any session at any level, with the exception of Blogger 101 Day sessions, which require a “+ Blogger 101 Day” ticket. More info on that below.

Who should come to WITS? Do I have to be a woman to attend?

Anyone who works in the travel space is more than welcome to come. You do not have to be a woman to attend, though our programming and all related activities will be focused on women in travel. At WITS you’ll find bloggers, Instagrammers, journalists, travelers, writers, creators, PR/brand representatives, entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations, business developers, coders, videographers and photographers, teachers, and more. At WITS, we are firmly committed to diversity, intersectionality, and inclusion. We aim to make our events inclusive for attendees of any ethnicity, religion, sexuality, gender, expression, age, or ability. If you have a suggestion for how we can better accommodate you, we’d genuinely love to hear from you.

How can I get involved with WITS?

There are a few ways you can get involved: purchase a ticket, get your company or brand to sponsor or exhibit, or volunteer with us (sign up for our newsletter to find out when volunteer opportunities open).

What does a ticket to WITS get me?

Your ticket grants you access to any session you’d like to attend, entry to all of our official parties and events, meals, coffee breaks, our famous Sunday Brunch, plus the opportunity to network with amazing influencers and brands, the chance to snag a ticket for some special city tours and events happening over the week/end, and a ton of free swag. Just a note that general admission tickets do not include access to Blogger 101 Day, which requires a “+ Blogger 101 Day” ticket in order to attend.

Which type of ticket should I buy?

Industry tickets are for empowered travel professionals and representatives from travel companies. Media tickets are available at a discount for influencers who will be covering WITS on social media and their websites during the summit. We have a limited number of press tickets available for journalists who will be covering WITS in major news publications. If you’d like to inquire about a press ticket, please contact us. You must be able to show proof of employment in order to qualify for a press ticket (Note: Having a blog is not proof of employment).

What is Blogger 101 Day?

Blogger 101 Day is an extra pre-conference block of programming (with breakfast included!), specifically designed for attendees who are new to blogging and digital content creation. This is an opportunity for beginner bloggers — or those who have not yet started a blog, but would like to — to get a head start on the exciting and informative sessions taking place during the weekend of WITS. Participants will learn from experienced bloggers, influencers, and entrepreneurs about the basics of blogging, promotion, and setting themselves up for success as they set off down the path of becoming a travel influencer. Blogger 101 Day costs $100 more than a regular ticket, and will take place on the morning Friday, May 3rd, before regular sessions begin. If you’d like to attend Blogger 101 Day, be sure to purchase a ticket that includes “+ Blogger 101 Day.” If you have already purchased a regular ticket but would like to attend Blogger 101 Day, contact us and we’ll sort you out.

I can’t afford a ticket. What should I do?

A limited number of volunteers will be offered free tickets to WITS in exchange for their service at the event. Sign up for our newsletter to find out when applications open.

I don’t have a credit card/You don’t accept my credit card. Can I still come?

Contact us and we’ll see if we can work it out.

What is your ticket refund/cancellation/transfer policy?

“Flash Sale” and “Earliest Bird” tickets to WITS North America purchased BEFORE May 15, 2018 may be transferred to another individual NO MORE THAN ONE TIME and ONLY UNTIL March 1, 2019, after which time these tickets are non-transferrable. Ticket transfers may only be requested by completing this form. All “Early Bird” and regular tickets are non-transferrable. WITS and Wanderful are unable to process ticket transfer payments. Individuals buying or selling a ticket must coordinate any transfer of funds individually. WITS and Wanderful cannot offer ticket refunds or cancellations at this time. However, for individuals who have purchased a ticket but then are selected to either speak or volunteer, the purchased ticket will be refunded. Tickets to WITS North America cannot be used at or transferred to WITS Europe, or vice versa.

How do I get to Portland?

All attendees are responsible for making their own travel arrangements to attend WITS. We do not have a group travel plan or rate.

Portland is a well-connected city with many transportation options, including: Flying direct into Portland International Jetport; flying to another airport like Boston Logan International and taking an Amtrak train up to Portland; taking any of the number of bus, train, and even ferry (!) options available; driving – click here to see the WITS North America carpool buddy list, which you can use to either find someone driving up to Portland to hitch a ride with or offer space in your car to another attendee (Note: WITS does not match roommates or carpool buddies. It is your responsibility to make these connections).

When should I arrive to Portland?

Official WITS activities begin on the morning of Friday, May 3rd (note to WITS veterans that this is earlier than we have begun in the past) and will last through the evening of Sunday, May 5th (we’re also ending this year with a special reception later than we have in years past). Pre- and post-conference tours and FAM trips will begin a few days before the 3rd and end a few days after the 5th. We’ll announce more information about these in spring 2019. If you wish to book your travel before we release tour dates to save on cost, we recommend coming into town one to three days before the conference officially begins and/or staying one to three days after it ends so that you can join us on tours and maximize your time sightseeing in the area before and after you’re stuck in the hotel all day.

Will I need a car?

Probably not. Portland is a very walkable city. Cabs, rideshare services, and shuttles are also available from the airport and train station (as well as throughout the city). Additionally, any tours or official events (like our opening party) that stray far from the hotel will have transportation provided.

How can I or my company sponsor WITS?
